A brief history of 506070
I have been a collector since I was a young boy in Melbourne, starting with the usual rocks, stamps and coins and then progressing to nature strip finds, Bakelite, Clarice Cliff etc.
In the late 1990s, having returned from overseas, where I spent a lot of time at Markets and in Museums and art Galleries I started buying and selling “retro” items at Bondi and Surrey Hills markets and direct to dealers.
Eventually I opened a shop in Annandale called 506070, opposite the old Lawsons auctioneers premises on the Crescent.
Now, after a break with a stall or two at Lunatiques antique centre, and a period of 2 years living in Southern Germany, I have opened a new, stand alone shop at 31-33 Elizabeth Bay Road with the same emphasis on interesting, well restored items of 20th Century design at reasonable prices.
New stock comes in regularly, as much to keep myself inspired, as to keep it interesting enough for customers to feel it worth while to make regular visits to the shop.
