506070 has a large range of retro furniture for sale or hire. These retro items are from the fifties, sixties and seventies... Hence where our name came from!
We also specialise in Australian designers.
Grant Featherston is the most collectible of the Australian post second world war modernist designers of furniture and developed the contour range of chairs in the early 50s using bent plywood technology that arose from the aircraft industry during the war and it was furniture manufacturing technology pioneered by Americans Charles and Ray Eames and Eero Saarinen.
Douglas Snelling was another Australian designer that introduced American modernist furniture design after visiting there after the war. He used bent ply technology as well as parachute webbing as an upholstery material.
